Why do I need to verify my identity?
We need to know our customers. For example, we make official registrations for vehicles that are sold through us, which is why we need to have the customer’s verified personal information and up-to-date contact information.
How to verify my Copart account?
Individual buyers need to verify their identity. Please upload a copy of your current Government-issued photo identification, Driving License or Passport. If you are a Finnish buyer you can alternatively submit your Finnish Social Security Number for later strong authentication.
Business buyers need to also upload business licenses/trade registration or other needed documentation in addition to the required photo identification or strong authentication. Please note that business ID, trade registration or similar is not sufficient identification. We also need personal identification by either using strong authentication or sending a copy of Government issued Identification, Driving License or Passport.
I want to buy dismantler vehicles, what to do?
If you want to buy dismantler vehicles, a valid environmental license to handle end-of-life vehicles is required from the buyer and the buyer has to be a member of Suomen Autokierrätys Oy (Finnish Car Recycling Ltd.) take-back points of end-of-life vehicles. What do I need to take into account about picking up dismantler vehicles?
Picking up dismantler vehicles requires the environmental license to cover vehicle receiving or a separate waste carrier's license for ELV vehicles transports. You can also order a transport by contacting Copart Member Services.
Why do I need to upload trade registration? Where can I get it?
We need to know our customer and verify that the customer has a permission to do business on behalf of the company they have notified. You can download the trade registration for free from Finnish patent and registration office's website.
Why my uploaded document has not been verified yet?
After you have uploaded the copy our Member Services Team will verify your identification. All documents are handled as soon as possible. Member Services are here for you on business days between 9.00-16.00 Finnish time.
Can I use an outdated document to verify my identity?
No. We do not accept outdated documents.
Can someone else verify my Copart account?
No. Account's owner must verify the account.
