Why can't I place pre-bids on a lot before the auction starts even though I just could do so?
Pre-bidding on lot details page stops one hour (1 h) before the live-auction starts. You can bid now in the live-auction!
When can I set bid for vehicles?
Bid whenever and wherever you want. You can set pre-bids or participate in live online auctions - or do both!
How to know if there's ongoing live online auction?
Find the auction schedule and all auction days on Auctions Calendar or visit Today's auctions page.
How do I know when my favorite lot is the next item in the live auction?
Every vehicle has the item number (#) which determines the auction order or vehicle's bidding turn in the auction. However, you can always set pre-bids on the item before its turn in live auction.
There’s still a lot of time left until it is the item’s turn in the live auction, do I have to wait until then to bid?
In a live-auction, lots are auctioned in order according to their item number. Before the lot you want is on the auction block, you can pre-bid until your item is either two minutes or two vehicles away from the auction queue.
How do I know if I won a vehicle?
If you won an item, you will receive information to your member account, as well as an email that includes the information about the item you won and instructions for payment. To find Lots won, select Bid status and Lots won. If the Auction Type of the item is On approval or the Price Reservation, you can find the item by selecting Bid status and My bids.
What does "On-Approval" mean?
The high bid must be approved by the Seller. Seller has reserved the right to approve the final high bid achieved during the Virtual Auction. Seller has until 5:00 p.m. two business days after the sale to approve the bid. The high bidder is obligated to purchase the vehicle if released by the seller within the approval period.
How to bid in live online auction?
Bid in live auction by clicking the Bid button. If you want to bid more than the minimum raise, see How to Buy - Place bids.
What happens if I won a lot and need to cancel it?
If you win a lot and don’t finalize the purchase (meaning, the lot is not paid in full within 7 calendar days including the day of sale) the Lot will Relist. The buyer pays the relist fee according to the fee table.
If you had paid to Copart already, contact the Yard directly. Each of the yard locations are individually managed and solely responsible for addressing all lot specific inquires/disputes!
